Rivers are a subject that have often beckoned me to pick up the brush and paint; they represent healing, peace, restoration, life and abundance. Walking by a river or stream has often stilled my mind and soul; the constant stream of water effortlessly carrying away worry, bringing new light and grace. “River of Grace” was inspired by a small detail image from another painting of mine. The dramatic diagonal of the river, along with the playful dance of warm and cool colors, drew me to paint that detail on a larger scale.
